The Truth About Fat Cells

In recent weeks it seems that the new marketing trend among supplement distributors is to make the claim that their product, whatever it may be, will actually 'shrink' your fat cells. There might be some validity to that claim, but there are some things that you should understand before splurging on a product that makes such a claim.
The first thing that you need to know about fat cells in your body is that they cannot be destroyed. Once a fat cell is created it is there for good, which is why long-term changes to your diet and your exercise regimen are critical to ensure that you do not create problems for your health later on down the line.
Some of you may have read that paragraph and thought that there is nothing that you can do for yourself. If a fat cell cannot be destroyed then how in the world will I be able to lose weight and achieve that sexy physique that everyone covets?
The next thing that you need to understand about fat cells in your body is that while they cannot be destroyed they can be modified in a sense that they can take whichever shape they want.
What this means for you is that they can be round, oblong, and can even lay flat just like your skin does, so even though they cannot be destroyed they can still give the appearance that they are non-existent.
Our fat cells store water, and some women can relate to this as that cellulitis, or the cottage-cheese looking occurrence that happens on the back of the legs and glutes, is a prime example of fat cells that are storing water creating that ugly appearance.
Luckily, this is something that can be fixed and fixed easily. This is where a solid diet and workout regimen comes into play. If you eliminate refined carbohydrates from your diet this will help fix the problem. That, along with regular exercise with free-weights will help to get those fat cells to lay flat giving your skin a nice even complexion.
Fat cells have been a long time debate in the health and wellness industry. Everyone believes that they have come up with the next big thing in trying to eliminate this part of our body when in reality it is a failed attempt. The only reason they are able to sell you products to help curb the problem is because the average person lacks that information.
